Homeland Security in Japan - Security & Safety Trade Expo 2005

In October 2005 Japan will hold the first trade show for homeland security in Japan titled The Security & Safety Trade Expo 2005. The event will occur at Tokyo Big Sight, West Hall and is sponsored by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.

Expected visitors from within Japan and worldwide include; IT industries, Oil, electric and gas power, finance, airline and railroad, Japan Defense Agency, National Police Agency, Tokyo Metropolitan Government, Ministry of Land Infrastructure and Transport, automakers, and more.

The show runs from October 19th through October 21st, 2005 and has an admission fee of 2,000 Yen (about $20 US). Around 600 exhibit booths are expected. Exhibits for the show are divided into three main categories:
  1. Security:
    • Surveillance & Access Control - Total facility and factory management systems, monitoring and control systems, anti-intruder control systems, biometrics identification equipment, etc.
    • Home & Community - Home security systems, interphone equipment, global positioning systems, etc.
    • Security Service, Guarding Services Providers - New security services from security companies and other service providers.
  2. Safety:
    • Fire Prevention - Fire alarm equipment, report systems, fire extinguishers, fire extinguishing systems, sprinkler systems, etc.
    • Anti-Disaster - Measuring equipment, sensor systems, unmanned helicopters, etc..
    • Fire Extinguishing, Emergency & Rescue - Fire trucks, ambulance vehicles, rescue vehicles, rescue boats, robot suits, etc.
  3. Risk & Crisis Management:
    • Information Security - Data access security, data protection systems, data encryption, etc.
    • Financial Products Risk Management Consulting - Accident insurance, weather derivatives, business continuity plan consulting, etc.
    • Counter-Terrorism & Organized Crime - Meta detectors, explosives detectors, drug detectors, etc.
